Product Spotlight: Pendleton

At Latitude North, we’re drawn to legendary brands at that illustrate the highest levels of passion and quality in their products. That’s why we love our friends at Pendleton Clothing. What started as a wool & blanket producing company, Pendleton has expanded and adapted to the new technologies and uses luxury fabrics to create clothing that you can rely on for a lifetime. They’ve been a family-owned business for 150 years, and their wool is sourced directly from their mills in the Northwest U.S.

A quick history lesson for perspective; Pendleton’s founder, Thomas Kay, was an English weaver who, in 1863, seized the opportunity to start a woolen mill in Oregon (America’s newest State at the time.) It was a dream come true for Kay to settle in an area with perfect conditions to raise sheep and a market to support the region’s first mill. Thomas’s oldest daughter, Fannie, was an essential part to this legacy. She led management and operations of their primary mill, and then married C.P. Bishop, a retail merchant. With their combined expertise in merchandising and clothing manufacturing, the business skyrocketed and created the foundation for their success today.

This family thread has continued with a legacy of hands-on management for six generations, and the company’s team continues to create iconic men’s and women’s outdoor wear. At the same time, Latitude North’s team is proud to share Pendleton clothing with generations of our own customers, who are looking for the warmest and highest quality outerwear available.

We’re proud to continue to bring Pendleton to you and hope you’ll find it as durable, warm and comfortable as we do. Whether you’re outdoors, traveling to visit family, or just looking for great, stylish clothing (and accessories) for a casual night out with friends, we hope you’ll support this great brand.
